Notice of Appointment of New President

We are pleased to inform you that Hiroki Matsuo was appointed President and Representative Director of Pacifico Energy K.K. (located in Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo) on June 1, 2019.

Mr. Matsuo brought many years of international clean energy business experience to Pacifico Energy K.K. when he joined us in 2013, both as head of carbon dioxide emissions trading at Toyota Tsusho Corporation, where his work mainly involved clean energy projects in developing countries, and at Eurus Energy Group, where he assumed responsibility for the development of solar and wind power plants in 2010. During his three years with Eurus Energy Group, he secured land for solar power generation in Japan and was later transferred to North America, where he developed new solar and wind power projects in the United States and Canada and conducted power plant-related M&A and asset management.

As Head of Pacifico Energy K.K.’s solar energy business development division, Mr. Matsuo succeeded in closing photovoltaic power plant deals totaling 930 MW in 11 locations across Japan. Since becoming a Vice President in 2017, Mr. Matsuo has overseen the Business Development and Engineering Division while also promoting offshore wind power projects. To date, Pacifico Energy K.K. has more than 2,000 MW of power projects in the pipeline in Japan.

Mr. Matsuo brings high-quality management and over a decade of know-how as one of Japan’s renewable energy business development leaders to his new role as president. He will continue to work to enhance the professionalism of our team in Japan, improve Japan’s energy self-sufficiency and revitalize local economies in Japan by providing safe, secure and inexpensive clean energy solutions.
